The Plan calls for simpler, smarter television services and experiences. With the aim of making them better, easier to use and more user-friendly, it calls for the wider adoption of integrated televisions, plug-in miniature set-top boxes and comprehensive smart home terminals. It calls for faster progress in standardizing integrated televisions, innovative artificial intelligence services for large television screens, and new models of convenient interaction and applications in new settings.
The quality and efficiency of public radio and television services will be improved. The results of the “dual governance” initiative will be consolidated and expanded, and the television-viewing experience in public places and rural areas will continue to improve. With a focus on cable television and direct-broadcast satellites, the “every household connected” initiative will be accelerated as it upgrades from standard definition to high and ultra-high definition. The supply of translated and dubbed programs in ethnic minority languages will be expanded, and targeted coverage of high-definition programs via direct-broadcast satellites in major ethnic minority regions will be encouraged. Standardized and equitable public radio and television services will be promoted.
The radio and television 5G network will be optimized and improved. Deep network coverage will be expanded, the network will be upgraded toward 5G-A, and 6G construction and commercial deployment will begin when appropriate. Integration between the radio and television 5G network and low-Earth-orbit satellite internet will be promoted, expanding new applications such as direct satellite connections for mobile phones.
