IT Home reported on October 15 that Rokid, an AI+AR smart glasses brand, announced today the official opening of the world's first unmanned, self-service AI glasses experience store at Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, China.
This is Rokid's first overseas flagship store and the world's first retail space in the AI glasses category centered on “self-service experiences.”
According to the latest report from market research firm Counterpoint Research, Rokid ranked first in the global AI and AR glasses market in the first half of 2026, with 41% of shipments.
IT Home learned that Rokid's world's first unmanned, self-service AI glasses experience store is on the third floor of Ocean Centre at Harbour City in Hong Kong. The store has eight immersive experience zones.
The experience store operates entirely on a self-service basis, with no sales staff following customers and no pressure from sales pitches. Each experience zone has an interactive screen that also functions as a mirror and connects with a pair of Rokid Glasses to share capabilities.
These AI glasses weigh just 49 grams and combine several core functions, including photography, teleprompting, translation, navigation, and AI-powered questions and answers. After entering the store, customers can follow the interactive screen's instructions to put on the glasses themselves and try out multiple functions independently.
Translated subtitles, speech prompts, and navigation arrows appear directly on the lenses; users can summon the AI assistant by voice and take first-person photos at any time.
Shao Huaqiang, Rokid's vice president and head of international business and business in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, said at the event: Consumer habits are changing dramatically. A new generation of consumers wants a quiet space where they will not be disturbed, can explore products freely, and can experience them at their own pace, instead of being continually followed by sales staff. Independent, immersive experiences have become a new consumer demand.
According to Shao, the biggest obstacle for AI glasses in the past was a lack of familiarity: consumers had not seen them, touched them, or known how to use them. Rokid has standardized the entire experience process: on-screen guidance, the route through the experience, and product retrieval by robotic arm. This process can be rolled out quickly to shopping districts around the world, turning AI glasses from a technology product that requires explanation into an everyday consumer product that anyone can try on their own.
