AI introduction

A post says Sam Altman considers OpenAI’s current best internal model too powerful to release openly any time soon. It says the internet’s cyber defenses would need to change and the world would need new protection against biological threats first. Another poster estimates that two labs’ internal models are at least four to six months ahead, without specifying the comparison.

@Scobleizer those 2-labs's internal models are at-least 4/6 months ahead, imo

San Francisco has models that are "too powerful to release." What does it all mean? No AGI for you or me. Great recruiting ploy. "Hey AI researcher/developer, come here and you can use the good stuff." It also means that the frontier labs will be able to develop products and services no one else can. Now I get why the VCs keep whispering that the VC model itself is under attack. If two companies can develop better products than anyone else, investing in everyone else is a fools errand, no?
