IT Home reported on November 3 that the eπ M8, a mid-to-large SUV from eπ Technology, has gained a new “Tianyuan LiDAR Edition.” The new version comes in 2 configurations, with list prices of 179,800 yuan and 185,800 yuan, respectively, or 159,800 yuan and 165,800 yuan after incentives. It retains a 6-seat layout that can be switched among 3-, 4-, 5- and 6-seat configurations for uses such as family travel and business reception. The Tianyuan Cockpit uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon SA 8295P chip and integrates the Doubao and DeepSeek AI large models, supporting continuous conversational interaction, everyday queries and media searches. The newly updated HMI 3.0 human-machine interface offers smooth, intuitive operation to help drivers stay focused and make interaction simpler. With SOA Scene Master, users can customize more than 1000 smart scenarios linking functions such as the seats, air conditioning and entertainment system.
The eπ M8 Tianyuan LiDAR Edition is equipped with Dongfeng’s in-house-developed Tianyuan Intelligent Driving and Tianyuan Cockpit. Tianyuan Intelligent Driving is built on the Horizon J6 M domain-control platform and coordinates 25 intelligent sensing devices throughout the vehicle. Among them, the Hesai LiDAR has a maximum detection range of 200 m and accuracy of up to ±5 cm; together with visual cameras, millimeter-wave radar and ultrasonic radar, it forms a multi-sensor perception system that detects road conditions accurately in real time. This system supports both highway NOA and urban NOA, assisting with automatic entry to and exit from ramps and passage through traffic-light intersections. For intelligent parking across various scenarios, the eπ M8 Tianyuan LiDAR Edition offers sensor-fusion parking, remote-control parking, path-tracing reverse assistance and cross-floor memory parking for everyday parking, reversing on narrow roads and fixed routes in parking garages.
As for the power system, the eπ M8 Tianyuan LiDAR Edition uses a Jindun battery with CATL cells. It has a CLTC all-electric range of 600 km and an 800 V high-voltage platform supporting 4C fast charging, with a charge from 30% to 80% SOC taking about 15.5 minutes.
