IT Home reported on October 29 that Tencent officially announced Buddy One, a cross-app AI collaboration system for individual users, at today's Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Summit.
IT Home has learned that the system connects workplace collaboration products including Tencent Docs, Tencent Meeting, Tencent Drive, and ima, sharing the WorkBuddy Agent foundation and unifying accounts and the points pool.
According to Tencent, users can link their accounts to use the system after updating the WorkBuddy PC app to version 5.9.0 or later. Shared memory will also be supported later, and more products will be added gradually.
According to reports, once Buddy One accounts are connected, users no longer need to repeatedly grant authorization or manually copy and paste context when using WorkBuddy.
Open the WorkBuddy PC app, click the profile icon in the lower left, then go to “Settings” → “Personal Homepage” → “Go to Management Center” and link the Tencent Docs, Tencent Meeting, ima, and Tencent Drive accounts you want to use.
Once the accounts are linked, users no longer need to specify which app to search. They can simply state what they need, and WorkBuddy will search and combine content from documents, meetings, and knowledge bases they have authorized, generating answers with sources attached. During searches, it will use “Buddy One All-App Search,” and matching materials will be labeled with their source app, such as ima, Tencent Docs, or the WorkBuddy library.
After joining Buddy One, WorkBuddy points are upgraded to Buddy One points by default and can be used across WorkBuddy, Tencent Docs, ima, and Tencent Drive. The balance is shared: spending points in any app reduces the balance across all of them. This includes points included in plans, promotional points, and points purchased separately.
Tencent also introduced a Buddy One VIP membership plan priced at 700 yuan per month with a recurring monthly subscription. A single subscription includes WorkBuddy Flagship, Tencent Meeting Professional, and Tencent Docs Super Membership Plus. The plan also includes AI points shared across apps and 1 TB of storage, usable across WorkBuddy, Tencent Docs, ima, and Tencent Drive.
