IT Home reported on November 4, citing a China News Service report published today, that Wang Xingxing, founder of Unitree Robotics, said at the Internet Entrepreneurs Forum of the 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit that next year will very likely be a tipping point for the robotics industry or robot models.
According to IT Home’s previous reports, Wang said at the 2026 World Physical AI Conference and Unitree Partner Ecosystem Conference that almost everyone in the world, including himself, still does not attach enough importance to AI or have enough faith in it.
Wang said that with the release of GPT-6, signs have emerged that physical AI is on the verge of a breakthrough, possibly within the next 1–2 or 2–3 years. At present, the central challenge for embodied intelligence in reaching its “ChatGPT moment” is aligning AI models’ inputs and outputs with real robots. He believes commercial services will see deployment sooner than homes or industry.
Wang also revealed that Unitree Robotics will focus on developing robot brain technology. In addition to its own technological breakthroughs, the company will seek cooperation worldwide. He is optimistic about physical AI technology and committed to making breakthroughs in it.
