Hire Robots Like You Hire People
On November 3, during CeMAT ASIA 2026, the Asia International Logistics Technology and Transport Systems Exhibition, a representative of XROGO delivered a keynote titled “Hire Robots Like You Hire People—XROGO’s Operations Network and Opportunities for Collaboration with Logistics Partners.” The speaker shared XROGO’s practices and thinking on how robots can take on roles within companies, how flexible service models can lower barriers to adoption, and how to work with logistics partners to advance applications in real-world settings.
At the event, XROGO formally launched its “Robots on the Job Plan” for enterprise customers and ecosystem partners. Focusing on 2 types of work—loading and unloading materials in manufacturing, and inspection and on-site monitoring in equipment rooms and power distribution rooms—the plan aims to jointly develop solutions around actual task requirements, continuously improve robots’ ability to work on an ongoing basis, and bring them into more “real jobs.”
The logistics industry has a clear, pressing need for robot applications. XROGO has chosen to start with the freight operations that logistics partners know best and their most urgent labor needs to find suitable jobs for robots.
The first area is “loading and unloading materials in manufacturing.” For machine tools, heat treatment processes, and tasks involving picking up, placing, and transferring items around equipment, XROGO will work with partners to put tasks into operation, covering everything from workpieces, cycle times, and end-of-arm tools to workstation interfaces, instruction by workers, and support for exceptions. This will gradually free people from repetitive, high-temperature, and high-noise processes, while retaining skilled workers’ operational experience in the system to serve more similar workstations.
The second area is “inspection and monitoring.” XROGO will promote the use of robots in settings such as equipment rooms and power distribution rooms in industrial parks to perform inspections, check conditions, and keep records, with personnel providing support through remote authorization, review, and handling of exceptions. When special or urgent situations arise, remote personnel can provide support through authorization, review, and handling of exceptions, creating an operating model that combines on-site execution with remote response and exploring more flexible ways to inspect and monitor equipment rooms and power distribution rooms.
In addition, “warehouse operations” such as sorting, loading and unloading, and inventory handling offer a wide range of job opportunities for robots. XROGO will work with logistics partners on suitability assessments and pilot validations, promote the close integration of autonomous picking robots, robotic arms, and other equipment with existing logistics systems, gradually validate workflows and connect interfaces, and progressively expand into more operational settings.
Whether robots can take on real jobs in companies depends not only on their technical capabilities, but also on whether companies can deploy and use them at a reasonable cost.
To address this, XROGO proposes “hiring robots like hiring people,” with “robot rental + service” as its main form of collaboration. It will provide services covering equipment use, agreed tasks, and ongoing support to lower the upfront cost for companies introducing the equipment for the first time. A representative of XROGO said: “We will match equipment and services to task requirements and work with customers to define the work to be completed, the rollout schedule, and the acceptance criteria. Operational records will gradually make clear how long the work actually takes, how many people are needed to support it, and how long it takes to deliver a new task, providing a basis for subsequent staffing, production scheduling, and expansion to additional sites.”
Instruction by people is one of the most effective ways to improve robots’ ability to perform real tasks. XROGO aims to involve the people who understand the work best in teaching robots: frontline workers and experts provide operational experience, while engineers provide tools, training, and validation support. This can substantially shorten deployment time and get robots working quickly. To strengthen their ability to operate continuously, XROGO is also advancing close coordination among “on-site robots, remote personnel, and local services,” gradually extending validated capabilities for real tasks to more types of work and embedding the XROGO operations network in customers’ frontline settings.
To meet customers’ needs for real job roles, XROGO will work closely with ecosystem partners on use cases, delivery, and the ecosystem. Together, they will help robots find suitable applications, support their continued operation after deployment, refine solutions around customer workflows, and gradually expand the range of applications.
XROGO is willing to work with robotics companies, artificial intelligence and model companies, customers adopting these applications, research institutions, and industry partners worldwide to test robots in real jobs and translate industry progress into every specific task performed.
