IT Home reported on October 24 that Xiaomi has officially announced its REDMI Book 2027 laptop series for release on October 27. The laptops feature a third-generation Intel Core platform, a built-in 72Wh battery, a range of colors and an upgraded finish, with a focus on working on the go.
Ma Zhiyu, Xiaomi's product marketing director and a digital technology blogger, said that alongside its refreshed appearance, the REDMI Book 16 2027 will add a feature users have repeatedly requested for a long time: a numeric keypad.
Of course, for a 16-inch laptop, a numeric keypad is not a technical challenge, nor can it strictly be called an advantage or a disadvantage. It is more a matter of product design trade-offs.
According to earlier leaks, the REDMI Book 16 2027 will feature a Core 5 320 processor and user-replaceable DDR5 memory, moving away from the previous generation's soldered-on memory design.
Other confirmed or nearly confirmed details include a 2.8K display on the 14-inch version, which retains two USB-A ports, two USB-C ports, an HDMI port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The entire series has Super Xiao Ai 2.0 built in, with support for cross-device collaboration and AI office assistance. According to leaks, cooling on the 16-inch version will be upgraded to dual fans and a 10mm heat pipe.
For reference, the 2026 REDMI Book 14 had a starting price of 6499 yuan (IT Home note: 16GB+512GB). Its initial sale price fell as low as 5499 yuan, and through some retailers it even reached the 4800-yuan range after a national subsidy was applied.
