We need to convince regulators that autonomous driving can protect not only passengers but also people in communities along the route.”
Discussing the scaling up of Robotaxi operations, Han said WeRide is largely ready in terms of technology, hardware, software and the industry ecosystem. As autonomous driving technology continues to advance, industry participants and regulators need to work together to explore better management mechanisms.
IT Home found that WeRide’s autonomous driving business now covers 13 countries and more than 60 cities. It has one of the world’s largest autonomous vehicle fleets, with about 3,600 L4 autonomous vehicles in total, including more than 1,800 Robotaxis.
