IT Home reported from the scene on November 6 that Honor CEO Li Jian delivered a keynote speech at the 2026 Mobile Network Conference today (November 6), sharing his thoughts on how industries will evolve in the era of the intelligent economy around the theme “Putting users at the center: building gateways together, building trust together, and creating the future together.”
He proposed that competition over AI gateways is not a zero-sum game over an existing market. The industry should focus on earning users’ trust and collaborate openly, returning control over gateways to users and jointly creating a new ecosystem for the intelligent economy.
Li Jian said that the deep integration of computing power, large models, and embodied intelligence is reshaping the underlying logic of industry, the economy, and society. AI is bringing not minor adjustments to individual functions but a disruptive restructuring of workflows and production paradigms across all industries. Yet users’ daily interactions still involve the drain of repeatedly switching apps and performing the same operations, while most human-computer interaction remains at the stage of “people seeking out services.”
In Li Jian’s view, the key variable determining the direction of business models is “scarcity,” and the history of industrial evolution is essentially a process in which scarce resources change: in the mobile communications economy, connectivity was abundant and information was scarce, giving rise to a channel economy that monetized content; in the mobile internet economy, attention was scarce, creating an attention economy that monetized traffic; and in the intelligent economy, the willingness to entrust intentions becomes the new scarcity, shifting business logic toward an intention economy that monetizes outcomes. In the past, a gateway was an icon that could be clicked. In the future, a gateway will emerge the moment a user forms an intention, and the core value will lie in each outcome entrusted to it by a user.
He believes the entire industry still needs to cross three hurdles between the formation of an intention and the delivery of a result. As intelligent capabilities continue to expand and long-term memory makes AI increasingly attuned to people, the more proactive intelligent services become, the more pronounced the challenges of trust become:
First is a scarcity of intelligence, which tests whether AI can actually get things done;
Second is a scarcity of context, which tests whether AI can understand users. AI does not lack basic capabilities; it lacks an awareness of users’ identities, circumstances, needs, and past behavior;
Third is a scarcity of trust, which tests whether AI is worthy of being entrusted with tasks. Context is a personal asset under the user’s control, and whether users authorize access depends on whether AI can be trustworthy, reliable, and controllable.
“Capability determines how fast AI can go; trust determines how far it can go,” Li Jian said.
Li Jian said, “Gateways need not be fought over; trust will gather on its own.” In the past, the industry often built walls to create moats, but users’ lives have no such boundaries, and fragmented ecosystem barriers will ultimately fragment a seamless intelligent experience. The gateway Honor wants to build will widen pathways: on one side, it will bring together various service ecosystems based on users’ real needs and circumstances; on the other, it will bring together model ecosystems, connecting cloud-based models, computing power supply, and the full chain of AI services.
IT Home learned at the conference that, looking ahead, Honor will work with China Mobile and ecosystem partners in open collaboration to build a user-centered intelligent economy ecosystem:
Build gateways together: YOYO will work with partners including Lingxi, Qwen, Doubao, and Gemini to build an agent network that provides a rich and diverse range of solutions for differing user needs;
Build trust together: Honor and China Mobile will jointly establish a complete chain of trust covering trusted networks, trusted identities, trusted settlement, trusted operations, and trusted devices;
Create business models together: Honor and China Mobile will jointly launch a Token plan for the first time on customized Honor Magic9 series devices. Honor will also work with more partners to continue exploring new business models centered on Token distribution, user subscriptions, customized devices, and service distribution.
