Meta’s Muse beats ChatGPT on Day 1 retention by 32 points and trails it by 4.3 points on Day 14.
Day-N retention is the share of a month’s new users who open the app again on Day N, whatever brought them back.
Muse’s 7-day user retention rate was above 30%, broadly in line with ChatGPT, and its 14-day retention rate hit 22%, just a little under ChatGPT’s.
While its retention still falls short of established social apps like WhatsApp (67%) and Instagram (54%), it did exceptionally well among standalone AI apps.

Meta Muse's retention is out, and it's almost as good as ChatGPT!
It's higher than ChatGPT at D7 (>30%) and just lower at D14 (22%). Not quite in the elite D14 tier of WA (67%) YT (59%) Insta (54%) or TikTok/Snap (37%), though.
