OpenAI’s CFO, Sarah Friar, said the mid-term results did not dramatically change the company’s plans, because its investment has to keep pace with customer demand, funded through hyperscaler partnerships and fresh capital.
OpenAI’s response to the backlash came yesterday: commitments to seek community input, publish construction plans, avoid NDAs with public officials and pay full power costs, applied only to data centers it owns and operates.
