IT Home reported on November 4 that Apple today (November 4) released the first watchOS 27.3 developer beta, bringing 2 audio intelligence features, Siri Recap and Live Rewind, to the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4.
Apple's official support page says the 2 features are available on the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, currently support only English, and require Apple Intelligence and Siri AI (Beta).
IT Home previously reported that Siri Recap is positioned as something like an automated conversation memo. Through “ambient listening,” it records summary information from everyday conversations to help users review things or key points they may have missed.
Live Recap can display a text transcript of the last 15 seconds of a live conversation, making it easy for users to quickly review what was just said. The Apple Watch can also listen for important environmental sounds such as a baby crying, doorbells, and sirens.
On privacy, Apple says neither feature identifies or labels speakers, and text snippets and summaries are end-to-end encrypted. Raw audio is deleted immediately after being processed in a dedicated hardware-isolated area of the S11 chip; no recordings are created or saved.
Live Rewind sounds an alert even in silent mode. Siri Recap provides a brief summary rather than a verbatim record and excludes sensitive content such as financial information and government-issued identification.
