OpenAI to combine ChatGPT and Codex usage allowances
OpenAI announced that ChatGPT and Codex will share one token allowance on Plus, Pro and Business plans. The change is set to start in December, when ChatGPT Work’s agentic features move into the main ChatGPT experience. Ordinary chats currently have separate message limits by model.

OpenAI announced that ChatGPT and Codex will draw from one shared token allowance on Plus, Pro and Business plans. The change starts in December, when ChatGPT Work’s agentic features move into ChatGPT. After the switch, each request will be counted by tokens; ordinary chats currently have message-count limits by model.
